Columns added to system view but won't show up when using the view?

I created some new fields for the Opportunity entity.

I was able to add them to the form, and add them to a report that shows the new fields correctly.

Then I created a new system view to show the data in these fields as well as some of the standard fields (Topic, etc), but when I go to the entity and use the view, only the standard fields appear as columns. None of the new fields appear as columns.

I can go to the view edit and see that the new fields are still specified, but they will not show up in practice.

Does anyone have an idea why the new field columns won't appear?

thanks,

holly

A publish is required after changing views which will make the changes live.

Thanks for your answer, but in this case I did publish the view, and I waited a day just in case it needed time to take effect.

The columns for the newly-created fields are simply missing from the new view, while the rest of the fields show up fine.

    Hello,

Is it CRM 2011 or 2013  and is it Online or On Premise ?

If On Premise what is the update rollup installed on the server ?

Are we seeing this behavior in both Web and Outlook client ?

How many custom fields have you placed in the opportunity form and did you added all those custom fields in the new system view along with standard fields ?

Are we not able to see any of the custom fields added in the view after publishing ?

The above information will help us narrow down the issue.

    Thank You.

    Hello Churchill,

i use CRM 2011 Online (updating to 2013 in 3 weeks).

I created the system view with 6 custom fields and 9 standard fields. The standard fields showed up after publishing but the custom fields did not.

I was using Outlook when I found this issue. Your question prompted me to try Web access and I found that the view works correctly in web mode. Jumping back to Outlook still gives me the bad view.

I took a couple of screen shots.

First image is view in Web: custom fields "Application", "Development P...", "Project Name" etc show up

Second image is in Outlook: the custom fields are missing.

    Thank you for any help!

    Hello,

What is the update rollup installed on your Outlook client ?

What is your security role in CRM ?

Are we seeing this behavior for all users in Outlook and on different machines as it will help us to isolate if it is related to user or outlook or machine specific ?

    Thank You.

    Hello Churchill,

    We are running Rollup 15.

My security role is system administrator and system customizer.

I checked other machines and they are working.

As it happens, I have the oldest computer (running Windows XP) and others are on Windows 7. But we are all running Outlook 2010

    Hello,

So this issue is happening for only one user on one machine on Outlook 2010 if this is the case then what if the affected user login to different working users system and configure CRM with that users Outlook ?

    Thanks

    Hi  HOLLYTAYLOR,

Did you try to remove Outlook client and add it again?

    Best regards,

    Hello Eber,

Reinstalling the Outlook client took care of the problem.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

And thank you Churchill for your help.
