Credit card authorization/settlements

Posted on by 100

My old processor was CitiBank and my new processor is Tsys/vital network. My credit card authorizations are showing on the Vital platform but CitiBank is authorizing the Batches and depositing in my account. How can this be possible? is there two different configurations for Authorizing and Settling in RMS?

Ok.  Didnt know that Transfirst was your processor.  Just figured Citibank changed your platform to TSYS.

You might have an incorrect edc configuration.  I suggest call transfirst and ask them about the citibank issue.

It is still possible to have either transfirst or citibank and still process through TSYS/Vital.

There are multiple layers to processing credit cards.

    The first point is RMS.

The next point is Vital/Tsys (gateway).

The next Point is Citibank (processor).

The final point is Visa/MC/Discover/Amex/Star/ etc.  (card network)

There might be more points in the change but this is the simplified view.  So your setup is possible and normal.  Basically all the funds from the card issue banks flows to Citibank then they release those funds to you by depositing them to your bank account.
