Planning to go for Axapta certification for Installation & Development.

Currently for installation only 1 paper is available that is MB6 705 Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU8 Installation and Configuration.

and for development there are 2 papers available namely MB6 704 Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU8 Development Introduction &

MB6-890 Microsoft Dynamics AX Development Introduction.

Would like to know what is the core difference amongst these development paper & which one of the development paper should I go forth with.

Also Is there any plan of any new Installation & configuration paper i.e. ax7 based arriving soon .

Will getting Mb6 705 hold up value in market for long time.

Thanks for your response, please note that I have spent many months on DLP sites. Course contents on DLP are magnificent. Have completed many courses of Ax on DLP which suggest that I am ready for certification.

The two version have huge difference in terms of installation.

As of now, there is no on-premises installation for AX7.

I believe you should give yourself, lot of time, to learn basics and then think of any certification. As of now there no certification for Installation of AX7. Only two certifications are there as of today, for AX7, one is for development and 2nd is for finance.

Non-related to question:

After reading first line of your question, I can say “First learn, then plan a certification.”

Glad to go forth with Ax7 certification in dev.

However I see no Ax7 for installation and configuration. Should I wait for one to arrive, or is it that there is no difference in installation & configuration between ax 2012 r3 and ax7.

MB6-890 is for the latest Dynamics AX (AX 7), MB6-704 is for Dynamics AX 2012. If you can choose, take the latest one, because older certifications expire sooner.
