Item Cards

Posted on by 3,225

Hello,

I was wondering if ther is a spot in GP that we can input the Height, Weight, and Lenght of our items so we are able to run a smart list and pull it in.  All I can find is where we can put the shipping weight in.  We are currently on  the old GP 10.

Thank you,

Katie

Another option which I have used in the past is to use Extender fields.   This would require a purchase if it is not owned, but works well.

Shipping Weight is on the item card but the other two not there out of the box though I have done that customization twice that I can think of.

You could use the user defined fields though.  If you open the item maintenance window, call up your item and then press the Options button you will open the Item Options window.  In the lower right of the window you have six user defined categories and if your business process still has them available you could enter the attributes there.

On the plus side, pretty easy to find in the UI, the values get stored in the item master table so those fields are already available on every smartlist and could be easily added to any report writer report.

On the not so great side, every time a new value is created it will ask the user if they want to add that category value before it will save, and it is a string field so it wont do a numeric check or force a format.

    Hope this helps.
