Unable to add items to home screen GP2013

One user logs in and their home screen has no items.  Adding items to the home screen does not work.  After going through the process nothing is added.  No errors are given.  We have removed and reinstalled GP 2013 and the issue persists.

When he logs into another computer it works fine.

Ideas???

Whats Industry and Role did he change it to?  My always defaults back to Education and Accounting Manufacturer.

You stated the user changed his industry and role and the quick links worked fine.  What role did he have to change too?  I am having the same issue.  I am on GP 2013.  I am a poweruser... so should have the rights for the quick links?

The user resolved the issue by setting the industry and role after he logs in.  Once he set himself and our industry in the client the issue went away.

The SA user is not experiencing the issue.

Apologies, I am just trying to figure out any associated indicators to get this figured out

Have you tested the "sa" account on this particular computer, would home page shows for the "sa" ?

No, that's not what I said.  I said he was away from his desk and I could not login as him to verify installing web components was successful (which it was not)

This issue has been happening 100% of the time since this particular computer was given to him.  If he uses his old computer the issues does not occur.  Also no other users who are running GP are having this issue and only 2 of them have web components installed.  The rest do not and are not experiencing this issue.

There are no GP related errors in the event log.  Are there any specific things I should be looking for?

You have mentioned that the user experience this for few hours ! Does it mean that this is a temporary issue ..

No errors on the home page, have you checked the event viewer for any possible indicators ?

Adding web components had no effect on the issue.

The user experiencing the issue is out for a few hours.  I've added the web components to his computer.

I feel I should mention we have an entire department of people using this and I looked at 2 others who are NOT having this issue and also they do NOT have web components installed.

I'm not optimistic that installing the web components will resolve this.

Could you please check whether office web components is installed, if not, please get it installed and restart Dynamics GP on this specific machine.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,
