Proportional Lead Assignment

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am looking for a way to dynamically assign Lead records. I have found articles about how to do this in a "round robin" system to distribute leads evenly or based on certain field values.

However, I am hoping to find a way to assign leads proportionally without having to have someone manually monitor the distribution of leads. What I mean by "proportional" is that I want, for example, 35% of incoming leads to go to salesperson A, 40% to go to salesperson B, and 25% to go to salesperson C. All incoming leads are being treated as equals, but I need only certain proportions to go to each salesperson.

I am currently working out of CRM 2013, but will be on 2016 shortly.

If anyone has some insight into this issue, it would be much appreciated. Also, a simple "this can't be done" works too. I just need to know!

    RE: Proportional Lead Assignment

    Hi,

Having to distribute leads based on the capacity or workload of each salesperson is the need of the hour! Hence, Inogic came with a solution called Lead Assignment and Distribution Automation for Dynamics 365 CRM. Through this app you can achieve proportional lead assignment based on the percentages you mentioned.

It provides advanced automation capabilities that can help you distribute leads based on your desired proportions without the need for manual monitoring.  The Capacity Assignment feature in It allows you to distribute leads according to each salesperson's capacity or workload.

With the solution, you can define the salespersons (users) and their capacities. You would define Salesperson A, B, and C and assign them the percentages you mentioned (35%, 40%, and 25%). According to your proportional distribution logic, leads will automatically be assigned to salespeople based on their capacity. With Capacity Assignment, you can also optimize lead distribution and use various criteria to configure assignment rules, including field values, geographic regions, and workload balancing.

    Thanks!

Thank you. I had seen one of these links before, but not all of them. I see how the round robin assignment could be adjusted for our needs.

    Hi,

"This can be done"  but it requires more effort in term =s of customization, writing custom code and workflows. Basically you need to go for the similar implementations you have seen for round robin with some changes as per your requirements.

There are few links ( please ignore if you already have these links)

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

from my own opinion, you have to think a way to assign the lead to the sales person "equitably" especially if the sales comes with commission.
