3rd party services as part of customer sales order

I am trying to create a PO for a vendor who performs services on a customer physical item install (that also has a PO and SO) then "receive" the services rendered, have it be "held" as a prepaid maybe, then be subsequently available to bill to a customer when the final invoice goes out with a marked up revenue amount based off of what was paid/owed to the 3rd party vendor. Is this possible?

Thanks SOMA but this didn't meet my needs.

I think I am comfortable using this method but what I am most interested in is making sure I have the customer invoice distribution detail accounts correct; such as the following without always having to manually add the last 2 rows prior to posting:

    112-000-1100-00 A/R 1000

    112-000-4260-00 Sales 1000

    112-000-1390-00 Subcontracted Services 500

    112-000-5100-00 Labor 500

Maybe, your method is still the answer but I couldn't make this work even when I changed the PO type.

I think, the Drop-Ship purchase order from Dynamics GP will fulfill your requirement. Have a look on my below blog to understand the concept of Drop Ship purchase order in Dynamics GP.

    Hope this helps!!!
