Please remember that if this is urgent you should be creating a support case. The Forums are for issues that do not have a high priority.

With that being said we really need more information about this process. Is this an upgrade or has Workflow never been installed? Did you do a server move, upgrade of SharePoint? Anything in Event Viewer? Have you created a Windows Installer log?

    Hello Jonathan,

    in response to your questions

    1) this is a re-installation. SharePoint was uninstalled then reinstallled, after which GP Workflow was uninstalled manually. It was while i was installing the workflow that the above error occured

    2) Event viewer recorded the same error The site /sites/DynamicsGPWorkflow could not be created. The following exception occurred: 0x80070057 .

    3) this error occurs at the point when the installation is creating a site collection

First I am hoping you did not uninstall SharePoint without uninstall Workflow before doing that. If you have then that is going to cause some issues as you have left orphaned records in SharePoint database along with probably the registry.

There is no easy way to 'manually' uninstall Workflow like there is with Business Portal. I would recommend finding a new server to do the install of SharePoint on (new database) and then try to install Workflow otherwise you are going to be spending a lot of time cleaning this server up.

i actually committed that error. What about if i totally remove sharepoint, web client, web services and reinstall everything? cos this is actually a clients server that holds the main dynamics GP installation and databases

You can try but I can tell you from previous cases when you uninstall SharePoint without uninstall Workflow you are going to see a lot of problems. If you opened a support case and told the engineer that they would tell you to find a new server :).

hello, i did a reinstall of sharepoint in standalone mode. Still gives the same error .

The site /sites/DynamicsGPWorkflow could not be created.  The following exception occurred: <nativehr>0x80070057</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>.

and this is a fresh server installation of GP.

So again I must ask have you tried this on a new SERVER? Otherwise at this point I would recommend opening a support case as there appears to be something that we are missing here.

yes i completely formatted the server and did a fresh install of GP, Web services, SharePoint. Nothing changed.
