CRM Appointment reminders through the outlook client are popping too early

Hi,


We are running Dynamics CRM 2015 On-Premise with the Outlook client for CRM on Outlook 2016 with our exchange server on-premise also on-premise.

When appointments are either created in CRM and synchronized to Outlook or vice versa, the reminder time ie 15mins before start doesnt seem to apply correctly. Instead we will get reminders days or even weeks ahead of time. These reminders cant be snoozed or dismissed as the next time CRM and Outlook synchronize it seems to forget what we selected and the reminder will pop up again which as per our settings is every 15mins.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

    Hi Scott, Have you reviewed the users Local Timezone and Dateformat settings via the CRM Options Settings for the Users, make sure its set correctly?

    Hi Raz,

    Yes the system and user settings in CRM both match those in outlook and on the users computer.

    The actual time of the appointments is correct, they match in CRM and in Outlook.

    Not sure if this provides further insight, i just deleted the last occurrence of a series as it had been completed but the reminder was still popping up and as soon as i deleted them the next occurrence in that series started popping up even though their start dates are still 6 days away.

    Yeh its definitely a CRM outlook plugin issue as deactivating the add-in resolves the issue.

    Hi Community,

    Managed to resolve this issue with microsoft's help.

    Turns out it was a compatibility issue between our version of CRM 2015 vs Outlook 2016 vs Outlook client for CRM. After updating out CRM server and the outlook client it has resolved this issue.

    Hopefully if anyone else falls into this trap this post might point them in the right direction.
