Copy Analytical Accounting Setup to another company

Posted on by 14,849

Dear

I need to copy the Analytical Accounting setup(Including Dimension and Dimension Codes) from one company to another

I don't think backing up and restore of the company DB will be enough as there are a lot of AA tables on the Dynamics Database that needs attention.

any idea how to do this ?

Your feedback is much appreciated

RE: Copy Analytical Accounting Setup to another company

Hi you could create a DTs package to copy across the below setup tables:

    AAG00400 aaTrxDimMstr (dimensions)

    AAG00401 aaTrxDimCodeSetp (codes)

    AAG00402 aaTrxDimCodeNumSetp

    AAG00403 aaTrxDimCodeBoolSetp

    AAG00404 aaTrxDimCodeDateSetp

    AAG00405 aaTrxDimRelation

    AAG00406 aaTrxDimCodeRelation

AAG00407 AA Trx Dim Adjustment Option

    AAG00500 aaDateSetup

    AAG00600 aaTreeMstr

    AAG00601 aaTreeNodeMstr

    AAG00602 aaTreeNodeLink

    AAG00603 aaTreeNodeUserWork

    AAG00605 aaTreeMstrDupe

    AAG00700 aaOptionSetp

    AAG00200 aaAccountMstr

    AAG00201 aaAccountClassMstr

    AAG00202 aaAccountClassDim

    AAG00900 AA Budget Tree Master

AAG00901 AA Budget Tree Trx Dim Master

AAG00902 AA Budget Tree Trx Dim Code Master

    AAG00903 AA Budget Master

    AAG00904 AA Budget Tree Balance

AAG00905 AA Budget Tree Account Balance

AAG00906 AA Budget Tree View Work

    AAG01000 AA UDF Setup option

AAG01001 AA UDF Trx Dim Setup

AAG01002 AA Trx Dim CodeUDF Maintenance

How ever if AA has not already been installed into the company that you are copying into you will need to run the install routine first to make sure the appropriate entries are created in the Dynamics database.

Once this is done and AA has been activated you need to update the AAG00102 table on the Dynamics database with the appropriate next numbers otherwise you will get primary key issues when you try and post.

Microsoft provide a script to do this on a KB article: 997280

I suggest you to build and use Macros to copy the information from one company to another.  You can use AA smartlist and the tables aaTrxDimMstr(AAG00400), aaTrxDimCodeSetp(AAG00401) and aaUserAccessToCodesSetup(AAG02000).

Make sure you have the option to use AA in  SmartList Integration window for accessing the smartlist.
