Good evening,

Is there any field in NAV that I can use to write additional comments in a General Journal Line other than the field Description?

I found a field called Comments but I am not sure if this wil serve to my purposes?

Thank you.

I want to create a codeunit to add the comments in ledger entries, I know we can add the field comments in CopyFromGenJnlLine() function in the ledger entries tables, but I need to create a new codeunit to add the comments.

You need to do a small modification to achieve this. You should contact your NAV partner and inform them to add a new field for the general journals and ledgers.

Please also check whether you want to save the comments in history after posting the lines or not.

I don't think comments written in that field will be stored in ledger entries..

Currently that field is not used in anywhere in standard Navision,so i think that is a good option to use for additional comments.
