Forecaster and Office 2013 compatibility

I am looking for updated system requirements for Forecaster 7.0. In particular, does it work with Office 2013? All the system requirements that I have located are old/outdated. Can someone provide me with information on current operating systems, servers, Office?

    Hi Deb,

You'd likely want to be on Forecaster 7.0 SP4 (released June 2011) or FC7 SP5 (released March 2013) to be compatible with the newer Office, OS and SQL environments.

For example, Forecaster 7.0 SP4 wouldn't be compatible with SQL 2012 because it was released before this version of SQL was available.

The version of Office with Forecaster likely wouldn't matter. I wouldn't think this would cause any problems, as you'd typically just be exporting and importing.

Do you know where I can find a list of Forecaster version compatibility with Dynamics GP?

Or, if you can tell me?

The client is on Forecaster 7.0.1618.20 (SP3) and using Dynamics GP2013.

Any help you could provide would be awesome.

    Thanks!

    Hi Heidi,

The compatibility should be in the Forecaster readme notes.

Forecaster 7.0 SP3 came out in April 2009, which is much earlier than GP 2013. However, Forecaster and the Dynamics GL do not need to be on some special version. Technically, you can run Forecaster 7.0 RTM without a GL of any kind.

Forecaster is a budgeting tool, and it really doesn't link to the GL unless you're using the Budget Transfer Tool. Otherwise, there are compatibility issues with SQL and the Windows server versions, but not related to the Dynamics version.

Keith, thanks so much. I'll have the user test it out and see what issues we come up with, if any. I truly appreciate your response!

    Have a great day.
