POS Slow After 20 Line Item Scan

Hi All,

we are facing problem Microsoft Dynamics AX CU10 POS become slow after scanning 20-line item.

we have multi till scenario with one Chanel database and 25 tills. All tills have offline db.

Chanel DB server have SQL 2014 enterprise eddition, Microsoft Dynamics AX Async Client, Retail POS and Retail Chanel configuration utility and till having SQL 2008 r2 with advance tool sp2 with Microsoft Retail POS and Retail Chanel Configuration Utility.

POS goes slow when items are being scanned and lines are being created in POS Grid. After 20-30 lines, when items are scanned, the POS response gets delayed and quantity and lines appear after an interval of 30-60 seconds. When scanning is complete and transaction is tendered, and committed we are facing no issue.

We have applied all the available guidelines such as Pooling = true, Available hotfixes (KB3122957 and KB3105973) and indexation but we are unable to resolve the problem.

We have run POS in offline mode it working fine till 50 line items scan after this it become slow also.

Kindly provide the guidelines and all the possible help to resolve the issue.

Did you use Trace Tool to Debug the issue?

Also, Try increasing MaxBufferSize in TIL registry.

Hi,

Do you have any discounts/price adjustments configured? In case of multiple discounts, it becomes more difficult for POS to calculate prices when the number of products increases - you can try to enable flag 'Manually calculate multiple item discounts' on store functionality profile, run 1070 job, restart POS and test if performance improved (https://ax.help.dynamics.com/en/wiki/pos-functionality-profiles-page-field-descriptions/)
With Offline database scanning can be faster, because database located on the same PC as POS + only single POS is working with this database (no locks).

Hi Oksana,

First of All thank you very much for your kind reply.

we have only single discount scheme (standard). we have check no database is locking while working online or with Chanel database. AS already mention that we are using AX Pos in supper Market (grocery), every transaction contain 150 to 200 line items and pos become slow while adding items in pos grid not become slow at scanning time.

please guide me in this scenario.

Hi Qamar,

Did you try to enable checkbox 'Manually calculate multiple item discounts'? It's recommended by Microsoft to enable this flag for grocery stores.
