Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if someone know why the Quantity Field is defaulted to Deliver now. is it normal? is it possible to change it? where and how can I change the set up for this in AX? and what are the implications for leaving it vs changing it.

Hello Hala,

The quantity field will 'remember' your choice and use it the next time you open the posting dialog. When you set it to 'all', there is a dialog which will warn you of the imminent dangers of not using 'picked', but 'deliver now' is obviously a valid choice for packing slips.

In general, use 'picked' for packing slips and 'packing slip' for invoice postings. On the receiving end it highly depends on your inbound tactics.

Thank you for your reply. How can I change it to? the field is greyed out and doesn't let me choose any other option.

Oops, I didn't look at the pictures.

I suspect that is just an authorization thing. You are not allowed to change it and 'Deliver now' is simply the first option in the list.

HI Hala ,

Looks like you have some customization in your environment . You might have to check with your dev's if any customization exist. Is it happening for every sales order ?

Deliver now is first in what list? so you are saying, there is no way to change it?

"All" is first in the list . You should be able to change it unless there is some customization or security set up.

Hello Sukrut,

I tested to post the packing slip for quit few sales order and the field displays the same thing 'Deliver now' every time. Do you believe developers made this customization?

Yes along with customization option you might have to check your security role settings as well .

I don't think it's a security role setting matter as I have full access. And for customization, I don't think that that can be part of the issue since dev's didn't do anything in this area yet or even touched the code. I feel like that the issue has to do with the planning workbench functionality and the (KB3155496) but I am not sure how and why.

You're not by any chance in Brazil? There is a Brazilian localization that disallows editing the field (under certain conditions that I don't quite understand at first glance but have something to do with WHS ...and being in Brazil).

Btw, 'Deliver now' is the first in the list of enumerations for the quantity field, the default value so to speak. And since it is the one with value 0, it is definitely the first :)
