SDT - installing the tool for GP 2013

According to the instructions, the SDT should be unzipped and installed at the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP) level.  I did that. (I am using the most recent version).  When I went to open GP, my messages were:

1. New code must be installed.  I clicked yes.

2. Next message - unable to find table.

3. Next message -  unable to include new code.

And, I cannot launch GP 2013.

Any suggestions for getting this installed?

Thanks,

Judy

    Hi Judy

Please make sure that you have used Run as Administrator and have full control access to the application folder.

Also make sure that the DYNAMICS.SET, DEX.INI and any existing DEBUGGER.DIC files are NOT marked as Read Only.

Please note that a new build was released today.

Make sure the user has full control to the GP program folder. Just because you are an admin doesn't automatically mean you have the proper permissions. Just give this user full control by clicking on the Advanced button under the Securities tab in Windows Explorer for this folder. You may also have to take ownership of this folder.

Richard - thanks.  I was logged in as local admin and ran the file as administrator.  Still searching.

Are you logged onto the workstation with a local admin user id?

From the SDT Installing SDT FAQ:

Q: I get a error message when trying to include new code, what is the cause?

A: If you get an Unable to find a table. error during the unchunking process, it is probably caused by the runtime engine not have write access to the application folder.  The most common cause for this on the new versions of Windows is User Access Control (UAC).  UAC will block write access to the C:\Program Files folder to prevent malacious software installing itself.  You will need to use the Run As Administrator option once, to allow the code to be included. The other alternative is to disable UAC, but this will cause the system to be less secure.

Q: I keep getting asked to include new code and Support Debugging Tool is not installing, what is the cause?

A: This issue can also be caused by the runtime engine not having write access to the application folder.  Please see the previous question and answer which discusses how to allow access.
