I got an error creating a Production order that says:

"Coverage planning of item LID622 has been canceled because receipts meeting the requirement cannot be found"
I don't understand what this error means, this is happens when creating and moving to a status of Started

    Hi,

The error is related to Master planning try to identify if the production order picking list material will be available via product receipt. It's not finding that and throwing error. This process somehow in your scenario gets triggered during start.

    Can you try below:

    1. Go to item master, plan tab > coverage group and try to delete the coverage group and try to process the order again. If this doesn't work, after removal of coverage group, create another production order. If this works, share what you had in the coverage group and setup as well. This will atleast point us to what's causing the issue.

    2. Is the production order result of master planning or you created this directly. Check your production order and see if you see any references to planned order etc.

    Thanks,

    Satish Panwar

If the order is released then its master scheduled so its more about manufacturing execution parameters you have set.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../key-tasks-set-up-manufacturing-execution.

scroll down to the 'Set up production parameters for validating quantities' section.

Have you the ticked the Finite material check box - Production control > Setup > Production control parameters?

Set each user's 'Default values' before they are allowed to do any production order update.. Check what values are set for you.

As a workaround for the specific order, uncheck the reference check if any.

Are you firming a planned order or creating an order manually?

If mrp has planned an order you have ignored and then created/or tried to create an order manually or you have both a  static and a dynamic plan, then try rerunning mrp, and if need be also delete the dynamic plan, and then try again,
