Form Field Properties - Event Handlers - add a new Event

Hi, just wanting to know if it is possible to add a new Event in the Field Properties Event Handlers?

The default event OOTB is "OnChange" for a text field. Is this the only event that can be used?

Is it possible to add, for example, a OnKeyDown or onKeyPress?

Thanks

    Hi

In a supported way, you can only bind to OnChange event of a field as described in the link below

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/customize/configure-event-handlers-legacy

    crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../form-event-programming-overview

If you want to bind to OnKeyDown or OnKeyPress events, you may end doing unsupported customisation /extension.

But I have noticed, if you create a Buisness Rule with a condition on a field (example a text field),  it does fire as we type each character, so may be you could look into using business rule if that suits your needs.

    Hi,

addOnKeyPress, fireOnKeyPress, and removeOnKeyPress has been deprecated in dynamics 365.

    [View:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/get-started/whats-new/customer-engagement/important-changes-coming#some-client-apis-are-deprecated]

There is no supported option at the moment, use on change and set field value null if it's not match  , I would not recommend to use unsupported method as they may not work in future release.

Thank you all for the suggestions and as I have realized earlier on before I posted my question to this forum is that it cannot be done in a supported way. My preference is not customized it using unsupported methods.

    Thanks again.
