Trial Balance shows no amounts

I am a Keller Graduate student and we have been using MS Dynamics GP 2013 for our lab this session. When I try to print my trial balance, it gives me an error about the user date (2017) so I changed it to 2015 since that is the time period we have been using.  When I try to print the trial balance with the 2015 user date, it shows zeros for all of my information, not listing any accounts.  I have reached out to our IT department and to the professor with no luck. Maybe someone here can help me since this is the last lab and I'd really like to get it to work properly. Thank you!

    Hi,

    Try the following:

    A

    in the trial balance window, select the option of your report and click on modify

    B

    On the far right, you will have a drop down for years, select 2015 > Click  Save

    C

    Try to print the your TB report again and let us know the outcome.

    Tom's Tacos is our fake company.  We set up the year to be 2015 so all of the transactions are dated for that year.

    Data shows in all of my accounts that we have used.  But when I follow your instructions for the history summary, I do not have a year to choose from.  That is odd.  I have repeated the steps in our instructions for the lab over and over, changing it from current year to open year/selecting 2015 but nothing is working.  I checked my accounts that I need to view and they are all set to posting accounts, which is also selected in the trial balance report box

    First question - what is the name of the company that you are logging into when you start the Dynamics GP2013?

    The message about 2017 sounds like the warning that is presented when you are first connecting to the sample database - Fabricam - or commonly referred to TWO Inc.

    If that is the case rather than changing the date to 2015 try printing the Trial Balance for the year 2017 and see what you get.

    Keep posting with what you learn as you try to solve as it will help others to post a complete solution.

    Hi

    I assume you are trying to print the GL trial balance and not one of the subledger trial balances

    First thing I would do is to ensure there is data in the year you are trying to print the TB for.

    Go to Inquiry > financial > history summary and select your fiscal year. then scroll through several accounts and see if you have data.

    If you do have data then the only thing that I can think of as to why no data returns when you try and print the TB is because you may have forgotten to make some selections in the Trial Balance Report Options window in the Include section.  You must remember to mark the box next to Posting Accounts.

    Try what I have suggested and let me know if you now get any data
