How to setup custom Privileges ?

Hi guys,

When create custom security privileges, what actually the important and needed to be setup ?
If I have a Form extension, and inside there is some addition button, do I need to specify this button specifically in Form Control Permissions ?

If I only add an Entry Point in this custom Privileges, and drag the Form name (the original, not the form extension), and in the Entry Point node I did specify Access Level : Correct, will all the buttons, both original and custom button appear ?

Thanks,
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

When you create custom security privileges - You need to add the custom Output or Action or Display menu to the entry points and set the access level.
Also don't need to add the button controls to the privilege - Form controls will be added the privileges only if the "needed permission" property is set to manual.
You need to add the menu items to the entry points not the forms.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.

    Hi Girish,

Sorry, my bad. In the Entry Point, actually I add the Display Menu Item. In this menu item has the Form. And while it has form extension, both original and extensions menu item for the button's property Need Permission is set to None. And in that Entry point's access level, I set it as Create.

So the issue here is, there are no button appeared when I'm using the Privilege.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Anyone can help me on this ?
As mentioned, if I checked again at the form it self, all the menu item buttons - Need Permissions property is set to None :
    Form : RetailTransactionTable ->

And I created my custom Display menu item for that form :

Then created the Security Privilege for this and add the Display Menu Item (... name ended with "invoice") :

But when I tried to use this Privilege, from those button group in the 1st picture, only Report Parameters button shows. But I didn't see any different between button "Report parameter" and the other buttons.

    Thanks.

    Hi Voltes,

Each button will have some menu item mapped to it. So, you need to add that menu item to your custom privilege also. Then only you can see that button on your form.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.

Hi Voltes, ReportParameter ButtonGroup has a commandButton but all other ButtonGroups in RetailTransactionTable form have menu item controls. You need to add the privileges of those menu items in security role.

    Hi,

Having access to a menu item is not granting access to other menu items used on the form that will open. I wrote some blogs about that topic:
Like mentioned by Mohit and Girish, you would need to add more menu items to the privilege or add other privileges to a duty or this role.

    Hi all,

Yes, at first I thought no need to specify it, but after Girish replied, I tried to add and it is worked.
Thank you all for the guidance.
