Chrome extensions for USD CIF Control

Hi!

In our web application, that integrated with web version of Dynamics via CIF framework, we using our custom Chrome extension to make voice and video calls.

Now we are looking a way to integrate our app with Unified Service Desk. But I can't find a way to run Chrome extension with the Chrome Process. Is the solution exists?

Or what's the preferred way to communicate between web CIF app inside the USD with the OS?

I suppose in USD we can add some custom .NET controls, but how they can communicate with web app?

I will very appreciate for your help!

    Hi Pavel,

    Chrome extensions are NOT supported by USD 's - CEF(Chromium Embedded Framework) .

    Only html/JavaScript based voice and video can be possible but not chrome extension.

    In some scenarios you can create custom hosted controls to achieve a requirement.

    From your custom hosted you can trigger RunScript actions of StandardWebApplication hosted control where your web app is hosted inside USD using FireRequestAction Method.

    Please download and extract MicrosoftDynamicsCRM2016UII.exe from v8.x SDK download.

    This has many kind of samples that tries to explain all the possibilities with USD

    Also from JavaScript of your web app you can trigger actions of other hosted controls, as shown in the examples below.

    That's a great answer, thank you!

    Though I still don't understand how can I stream data between custom hosted control and embedded CIF web app (could we access postMessage method for that window? Or could we extend CIF framework with custom messages?). But I will check examples that you have mentioned, to find something that could help!
