Fixed Assets Depreciation

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I would like an advise from you all about Fixed Assets. I am doing testing on Fixed Asset Depreciations, I found it did not depreciate correctly. I tried one assets:

Using: SLO and Next Period.

The costs =  600.00

Orig Lif in year = 5

Salvage Value = 0.00

Date in Place Service : 30/01/2009

Opening Balance/YTD = 180.00

Accumulated Dep./LTD = 190.00

Net Book Value = 410.00

Date as off : 31/08/2010

after runs depreciation for 30/09/2010 = 0.00

should increase to by 10.00 because every month depreciate =10.00

Please help! Anything wrong with the setup? or What is the correct calculation?

Regards,

    hi,

    3/152

Financial detail enquiry i do not understand what info you want to see.

    I've defined only one book.

period starts from 1/7/2009 - 31/12/2010 (18 periods) only year 2010 and year 2011 and above  (12 periods)

    current year for book :2010/periodic

    yes, depreciated to date 31/08/2010

For this asset no amount projection show.

    check the following:

    - remaining years\days

    - financial detail enquiry

    - how many books do you have, maybe the depreciation is on the other book.

    - your period setup

    - your book setup, whats the current year?

    - your 'date as of' is this the depreciated to date?

    - try to run projection see if it will give you something.
