COGS - can the COGS account be changed for a specific customer?

Hello all,

Our company uses NAV 2016.

In the general posting setup we have set up the COGS postings. These postings are set per item group and not per customer group.

I was wondering if we can change the settings for 1 specific customer? This customer can buy any kind of product, so it I was wondering if there is a setting that would overrule the general posting setup settings or if there is another way to do this?

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Marco

Thank you, Gulshan Shubham. This answers my question. We process lots of items for this customer, so unfortunately we cannot create a different item with a different posting group linked to it.

Thank you, I Gusti Made Ari Permadi. I was afraid that this would be the answer. Unfortunately we cannot maintain a separate item code for the customer. This "customer" we use to book our donations and we can donate any kind of item. Currently we are making a manual JE at month end to move these transactions out of COGS.

As you must be already aware, In NAV the posting are done based on the Posting Setups i.e. there is no direct GL mapping from COA. So, if you want that for a particular item, if the transaction is done with a particular customer then it hits a different COGS Account. Then you need to have a separate "General Business Posting Group" created for that customer whose combination with General Product Posting Group hits your other target COGS account.

There is no way to do that. You will need to create and maintain separate item code for this specific customer in order to do that
