Dear all,

I import fixed assets master data in Dynamics 365. I use fixed assets entity to import. However, this file is not depreciation information fields such as depreciation run date, service life, posting profiles ...

Fixed-assets.png

I used to import fixed assets master data in AX 2012 R3 version and assets table has depreciation information fields.

Does anyone know about above case?

Thanks in advance,

Van Nguyen

    Hello Van Nguyen,

Information about the last depreciation run date, status, etc. are held in the fixed asset book data entity.

The fixed asset data entity that is shown in the screenprint above is typically used for migrating the fixed asset master data, such as the fixed asset number, name, etc.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Van,

In earlier versions of AX we have   value models and depreciation books valuation concepts. Value models and depreciation books functionality have been combined into a single platform that is known as a BOOKS.

Books have a new "Post to general ledger" option. If enable  it behaves as Value Model and if disable this option then it behaves as Depreciation books.

    Hi Ludwig Reinhard ,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I understand it. This is the fixed asset book data entity in Dynamics 365

As you know, this is fixed asset book that set up in Dynamics 365

I want to import depreciation fixed asset fields for each fixed asset.

    Eg:

Actually, I can import it in AX 2012 R3.

    Best regards,

    Hi Van Nguyen,

The process for the import of the fixed asset base data and the depreciation data is similar to what you are used to from Ax2012.

If you have not done the import in d365 probably do some test imports in a demo environment first.

    Best regards

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig Reinhard,

I understand importing process in Dynamics 365.

However, I wonder about some fields that are  depreciation information. I can't see it in any fixed asset table in Dynamics 365.

    Many thanks for your support.

    Best regards,

    Van Nguyen

    Hi Van,

    Hi Sangram Shinde,

Thanks for your reply to me,

Some fields are depreciation run date, depreciation periods, depreciation period remaining, posting profile, default dimension...

As you know, when I import fixed assets master data. Those fields are very important.

    Best regards,

    Van Nguyen

    Ok Van,

Fields PostingProfileId, DepreciationPeriods, DepreciationPeriodsRemaining, DimensionDisplayValue, DepreciationLastRunDate are available in 'Fixed Asset Book V2' data entity, didn't you get these in your environment?

Please use 'Fixed Asset Book V2' data entity to import these fields.

    Thanks,

    Sangram

    Hi Sangram Shinde,

I checked it in the Fixed asset book V2. All fields are in here. My question has been resolved.

    Thanks for your support.

    Best regards,

    Van Nguyen
