Update 23.5 to 24.0 Business Central

Posted on by 64
Hi.
How do I know why my environment in Business Central does not update from version 23.5.16502.16589 to 24.0.16410.17628?
I have 2 environments, 1 sandbox and 1 production, only in the production environment I have a different extension than the Sandbox one.
But only the sandbox could be updated to version 24.0.16410.17628, the production environment gives me the error: Update failed with an internal error FirstPartySync and is being investigated. but it only tells me that, it doesn't give me more information.
I installed the extension that I use in production in another environment with version 24.0.16410.17628 and it allowed me to load it without problems.
Could you guide me on what I should do?

I was making some changes to my sandbox and found a page in Business central called Delete orphaned extension data and I had some unpublished extensions.
I deleted them and tried to upgrade Business Central from version 23.5.16502.16589 to 24.0.16410.17628 and was finally able to upgrade my environment. Now all that's left is to replicate it to my production environment.

Hi, as mentioned, this may be due to a known issue. Please be patient and wait for the hotfix to rolled out.
    Best Regards,

I have a customer who uninstalled all PTEs, restarted the environment and then upgraded, and the problem disappeared. But you need to reinstall PTE after upgrading, I think you can test it.
However, generally this error is a Microsoft problem, and you can also submit an SR to the Microsoft support team.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Usually this is something Microsoft has to fix, I would put in a support ticket with them. If you search the forum you will see the same errors from previous update releases.

I did see the below on Yammer, a fix was supposedly rolling out but from what I can see users are still getting the same error.

    Hi, Saurav.Dhyani.
Check that the applications are all updated and if they are, I restarted the environment and did the update but it still shows the same error.

    Hi,

Go to apps section in admin center for selected environment and make sure that you have all apps updated.

Once done also try to restart the environment and then try upgrading the environment.

    Regards,
    Saurav Dhyani
