Is it possible to connect Microsoft Dynamics AX using Python and performs operations like read, insert, update records

I used Microsoft.Dynamics.BusinessConnector.dll to connect to the database and performs operations on the tables. Now I want to connect to those tables using python, is it possible to do so ? If yes please provide any tutorial for the same. Can I download any evaluation copy of MS Dynamics AX for my local testing ?

What is Python?

If you are a customer or partner, you can download AX2012 machines or setup files. With some MSDN subscriptions it is also possible to download AX2012 setup media with a demonstration license.
