Sales Credit Memo

Posted on by 12
Why can't I delete a sales credit memo?
I don't even have the option.
It says:

There are unsaved changes on the page. Do you want to discard these changes?

Whether I say Yes or No to this, I cannot delete this.

you should not delete a posted sales credit memo. It seems that the credit memo has been posted but there is a possibility the credit memo hasn't been applied to the sales invoice correctly.

I suggest you to find a proper way to reverse either the sales order or the credit memo. Deletion will cause a bigger problem since BC is unable to recover once it is done.

Hi, I mentioned this printing issue in my reply below, and this is standard behavior. . . .

In addition, I also mentioned in yesterday's reply that if you delete the Posted Document, it will not affect any data. It just deletes the document. You need to consider other ways.

    Thanks.

I can't believe all I had to do was print the invoice.....how strange.

So this was helpful and I was able to delete the invoice.

The posted sales invoice that I was trying to create the credit memo for is still showing as Closed.

How do I get this invoice to be open again so that I can simply Correct the invoice?

I thought deleting the incorrect sales credit memo invoice would re-open the posted sales invoice but it didn't.

    Hi

This error occurs because you haven't printed or saved the Sales Credit Memo. You need to print the current Sales Credit Memo first; once the "No. Printed" field has a value, you will be able to delete that document.

Hi, if you just want to undo it, deleting the Posted Document will not affect the financial amount, it will just delete the document.
You can cancel an invoice using the following standard functions.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

I was trying to create a credit memo to cancel an invoice and the posted sales credit memo does not say Canceled or Corrective.
All I wanted to do was delete the sales credit memo so that my original posted sales invoice has a remaining amount again.
I have already went into Sales & receivables and allowed document deletion but I'm still getting the error message

Hi, have you added any customization to Sales Credit Memo page? As far as I know, this problem does not occur in the standard environment.
Or are these Sales Credit Memos imported through an external program or Configuration Package? It seems that Validation has not been performed.
As for the No. Printed error you mentioned now, are you trying to delete the Posted Sales Credit Memo?
I mentioned this problem in the post below, I hope it can give you some help.

    Thanks

    Nothing is working.

Now I get this error message when trying to delete the sales credit memo:

No. Printed must have a value in Sales Cr.Memo Header: No.=PS-CR00020. It cannot be zero or empty.

    Hi
Have you tried to delete the lines first and then the header, is the problem with some line?
Can another user try to delete it?
    Best regards
    Gerardo
