Can't Uninstall GP 10.0

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

I am trying to uninstall GP and am running into some issues.

We can't remove the program from the uninstall programs in control panel we received the following error:

" A specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name:genericpath"

I also get this error when trying to remove "A cross-industry financial management solution for mid market segment businesses" installer package  as it states in the blog below. I also could not find " Business Solutions" to remove it from the Registry.

    Hello,

We did run a repair on GP, we were still unable to uninstall it. The customer has reimaged the machine and reinstalled GP successfully.

I experienced the same issue you reported recently, and the repair operation and then uninstall worked.

    Hi ShellyAnn!

I have been able to perform some research on the error that you are experiencing. I would recommend performing a Repair on the program and then try to uninstall it. From a few of the cases I am seeing in my research a repair has resolved this error message.

If the repair doesn't work I would recommend creating a support incident with us here at Microsoft so we would be able to stream in and review the error and perform some testing.

Please let me know how everything goes!
