The new version will be a subset of AX, pulling bits and pieces of the standard AX for Retail product to create "NextGen RMS" or "AX for Retail SMB" or whatever it will be called.as both names have used.
Understand that the current version of RMS will be supported through 2016, with extended support through 2021, it was originally written in the 90s and the code is getting old and tired.
Rather than starting from scratch, they are using AX for Retail as their base code, with its enhanced programming techniques (Visual Studio) and add-ons. We don't know yet what portions of AX we will receive.
I am not understand. Is RMS independent solution? I don't want to use AX. I thought it is independent. Does not make sense to by AX because I want only RMS.
There are vendors that offer language packs or you can do it yourself.
Understand too that the "Next Gen RMS" to be available end of the year, will be offered in 36 languages, using AX as its base product
