Error on Email record - Reply, Reply All or Forward

When a user tries to Reply, Reply All or Forward an email in D365 they get an error. They click on one of the following buttons at the top of an email:

options-on-email.PNG

Then get this error:

error-with-email.PNG

This happens with a user with the System Administrator role, and also when a user is replying to an email that was sent to them. Not sure what to check. Any ideas?

    Hello Megan.

Try to use the developer tools to look for problems in the browser.

    Kind regards,

    Karsten

Hi Karsten, thanks for the reply. Not sure how to do that, and the issue happens on all computers, and i've tried in all browsers (Chrome, FF and IE).

    Hello Megan.

    No problem.

Press F12 to`open the developer tools in your browser. After it opens, navigate to your eMail and click on the reply button. Than have a look to the developer tools... is there an error message displayed?

    Kind regards,

    Karsten

Thanks Karsten. I found the link you shared and ruled that one out first. Was hoping it was that simple. Is this the tab I should be reviewing in the developer tools? I get a max session timeout message.

    Hello Megan.

It's the tab Debugger. When there is no error message displayed, we must try next steps.

    Kind regards,

    Karsten

After some more digging the following information was found:

“An undeclared property 'partyid_custom_entity' which only has property annotations in the payload but no property value was found in the payload. In OData, only declared navigation properties and declared named streams can be represented as properties without value”

So tt’s working fine with the contacts, opportunity, case (the system ones), not with the custom entities. It can also be reproduced in another environment, which is on the same version, v9. I will be submitting to Microsoft and will post the outcome. Thanks for your help!

    Hi Megan

did MS fix this issue for you?

We have just started with the same issue and users can not reply to an email received in a Queue.

We have raised to Microsoft but its now 3 weeks on and they still can not identify the issue.

    Ant help you can give.

    Vanessa
