New Business Document Management without Sharepoint possible in

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

Hello!

Since I previously have been working with layout in Word and Excel I am curious to look at this new functionality in the demo environment.
But the environment I have access to has no connection to a SharePoint service. Would it be able to use this functionality without a SharePoint connection?

If yes, is there some information regarding how to work with Azure or how to store files in the database itself? Since this is only a demo environment setup, there will only be a few document stored.

Thank you in advance for your help here.

    Hello Eva,

If you just want to test this feature then you do not need a specific SharePoint to my knowledge.

The question that you have to answer is where and how you want to store the invoice documents created.

If you don't need them in SharePoint then you can - for example - directly send them by email to the customers email address.

An alternative is storing them in Azure but this might make your database growing fast depending on how many customers and invoices you create. Yet, for doing some tests, this should work fine.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Eva,

You can take a loo at below link to see how to configure document management . If you want to use sharepoint as a storage then only you need to connection to SharePoint . for demo purpose you can use default azure storage as an option.

details on how to work with Azure or how to store files in the database itself?

We are faced with buying many SP licenses.  we already have Azure/D365 licenses so we would like to allow access to docs via D365.

    pros and cons?
