Does anyone know what Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.PreviewPane.dll does?

I am auditing our install of GP2016 and found this dll in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2016\AddIns folder.  Is this a Microsoft product or something our prior integrator wrote?

    Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.PreviewPane.dll is installed into the addins folder by default. It is not a third-party product nor a customization. As for what it does I am not quite sure. I believe it has something to do with the navigation panes. Perhaps someone from Microsoft can supply the answer.
