How can I check who is logged in, without being SA?

Posted on by 110

Hi everyone,

We have 5 full user licences for our GP 2015, and even though we only have 5 main GP users, it seems that lately some users are not able to get in because there are already 5 people logged in. The issue is often that a user is in there twice (due to hanging, caused by not properly exiting the program we are told).

Currently only SA has the ability to check the user activities, to see who is logged in. I am just wondering if its possible for a regular user to see who is logged in, that way we can determine who is logged in twice and they can kick themselves out?

Thanks in advance!

Jena

In security, the screen is under Task ID:  ADMIN_SYSTEM_006*

If you want to add access to just the User Activity screen and not the entire task it is in, you can find it under

    Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP

    Type:  Windows

    Series:  System

    Jena,

I have full administrator rights and am able to see who is logged on, without being signed on as SA.  One mistake I made in the original reply on the path-see correction:

Path = Administration / Utilities / System / User Activity.

    Hope this helps -  Linda

Thanks for the response Linda! I just want to confirm if you are System Administrator, or a Power User? None of our users, besides SA, have access to that Utility. Our SA is working on giving one of us access, so we wont have to contact them every time but she has currently had no luck finding it!

    Hi Jena,

I am able to see who all are logged in by doing this:

Go to -- Administration / Utilities / User Activity.

This shows who the User ID, Company, Date Time, & Client Type.

    Hope this helps,

    Linda
