How to construct a new Excel Template with relation between 2 new data entities

Hallo All,

I have a requirement to create a new excel template for the 2 new data entities. This is similar to the Purchase order header V2 and Purchase order lines V2 that exists for Standard purchase order template.

My question is how to build a template with relation between Header and lines entities in the excel just like below Standard template.

This template is a standard purchase order template where Lines is linked to Header entity.

Could some one tell me the procedure how to build a relation between 2 entities as in above template.

I have tried with my own entities but unable to form a link between 2 entites. The 2 new entities are similar to Purchase order Header V2 and Purchase order Lines V2 entities. There exists a relation in the Lines entity with Header entity.

But the problem is unlike in the standard template, in my new template I am unable to find a ++ symbol to add the linked data source.

Thanks in advance

Ramakrishna

    Hi Rama,

You could try to go to Data- New query - From other sources - From OData to use odata feed to get data.

Please have a look at the old thread:

    Hi Will

    Thanks for your reply.

While doing the suggested way , I am facing an issue like below.

    Hi Rama,

There is an example template available for e.g. ledger journal lines. This has a header record and a link to the lines. You can open the template by first creating a new journal header and then open the lines in Excel.

     Hi All,

I found the issue, I was doing in a wrong way in designing.

    Please follow below steps.

    1. First try to add fields (and not Table).
    2. pastedimage1592845303111v3.png
    3. In the Entity select the Header Entity and click Next.
    4. Now its important to select correct column where we want to add Label and then select another different column where we want to select Value and then click Done.
    5. pastedimage1592845355703v4.png

e.g for PO, yellow Highlighted is for the Label and red Highlighted is for its Value, similarly add the fields which are required.

    1. Then you have the possibility to add related Entity.
    2. pastedimage1592845421675v5.png

Select the Line Entity and click Next, then we have the possibility to add Line fields.

    6. Then select the correct cell in the Excel and add Line Entity, and add all the required fields in the Excel.

Hope this helps who ever is in need of new template design with header and line entities.

    Thanks everyone,

    Ramakrishna
