Error when run SSRS report

Hi all,

I got "Value cannot be null or empty. Parameter: _designNodeName" error when I try to run SSRS report in AX 2012 and still dont have any idea to fix it.

Please give me some advise ...

Hi Chie,

In Visual Studio, check the parameter _designNodeName and sets it AllowBlank property to true.

Check the parameter in VS , property Nullable to true and allow blank to true.

Redeploy the report now

If the parameter is not mandatory the yu can do the following :

1. If the parameter data type is string , set AllowBalnk property to true in VS

2. Otherwise set IsNullable property as true in VS.

But proplem is Parameter: _designNodeName does not exist in my project ...

I have had this issue in the past, usually when changing or deleting parameters on the report. You can try following actions to resolve the issue.

1. Find the parameter in the report definition and delete it from there if it is not in use.

2. Generate incremental CIL after making changes in the report definition

3. Restart SSRS service

4. Clear usage data

You have to change the Menu Item parameter "RunOn" to "Called From"

If you have backup file for your report then go to internet explorer paste your report server URL and find your report and delete it.

In next step open your AOT go to SSRS Reports/Reports and Import your(CTRL+SHIFT+I) standard or customized report. After importing find your report in Reports node and right click the report and select Deploy Element option to deploy your report....

In AOT, Open the propeties of your MenuItem (Output), and edit "ReportDesign" property.

For me it's work.
