Index Rebuilding

I have read some articles that stated CRM 2016 has its own internal index rebuilding and statistics updates. Is that what you have seen?

I am thinking I need to setup some maintenance plans to do this? Does that break any compliance with Microsoft?

Beyond the default, simple settings of the maintenance plans created with the SQL Server wizards, what recommendations would you have for CMR 2016 as far as percentages of fragmentation, types of heaps and record counts?

Thanks

indexing is supported in CRM - so you are free to add your index and rebuild them periodically.

Usually we see the SQL performance and do all the activities. So suppose some entity is being used heavily while few are not then you can choose the set a maintenance job based on the activity.
