Mass removal of outdated trade agreements

I have a client which have 1 to 2 million of outdated (past dates) posted trade agreements. I have two jobs. One is to create a job which can remove all of the outdated trade agreements and one to create a cleanup job for weekly removal of outdated trade agreements.
1. Anyone had experience with above
2. Would it be possible to remove the trade agreements without doing the whole /posted to journal thing/, and remove them directly from the database?
3. I am not sure myself. But lets say I am lucky to remove the millions of trade agreements, are there any proof it would enhance performance ?
Thanks ahead

    Hi,
It is possible to remove trade agreements directly from the database, but it is not recommended as it can lead to data integrity issues and potential corruption. Using standard functionality to remove trade agreements is the best practice.
Removing outdated trade agreements can enhance performance by reducing data volume and potentially improving system response times, especially when dealing with millions of records. However, it's important to benchmark system performance before and after the cleanup to measure the impact accurately.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Lars,

I do assume you are referring to a customization when you talk about the two batch jobs? I had deleted some trade agreements in the past, but not that frequently at a lot of customers.

There is a Clean up trade agreement journals job in the application which deletes invalid trade agreements. This is where ever the From date is later than T0 date.
You can take this job as an example to create a performing deletion of obsolete prices. So, that would answer, I think, your question number 2.

For the third question, I have a question in return. Have you used the Trade parser to check if there is an actual performance issue while retrieving the agreements? If so, you can find the root cause. I'm not sure if the number of records today is your problem. In case there are a lot of active trade agreement records for the same product, then it might be causing some delays with particular settings. Anyway, without the trace parser you would need to test it in a non-production environment and have a baseline before removing all records. Then perform a cleanup and test the performance again.
