Intercompany Transactions and Inventory Management

We run a multi-location distribution business.  We recently migrated to business central NAV. Our integration partner initially told us that conducting intercompany transactions including; moving and sharing inventory across locations wouldn't be a problem.. I guess easier said than done, they experienced some turnover and the apparently they lost the person with the experience to implement this functionality.  As I recall it may have been a completely separate module that needs to be integrated.  Is anyone familiar with this?

One key factor is we need to be able to pull from multiple locations at the time of order and have the intercompany accounting occur in the background of the system.  We saw this demo, but cannot recall what was used or how this was setup.  We are operating in BC using for separate companies.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Or can provide guidence?

Thanks!

The case is that you can not really sit in one BC company and look up the inventory in another company directly with out doing some customization in your solution.

The intercompany function is ment for transactions between two company.  If you sit in company A and get and order for an item that is in stock in Company B there is no 100% automatic functionality to achieve that out of the box.

So you should discuss each of your specific business scenario with a Business Central partner and discuss with that the best way to solve them. And if you do not have enough thrust in your current partner you can search for other partners in your area that you might have more trust in.

Here are some general information of how you can configure intercompany posting in your system.
