This operation failed because you're offline

Hi, I would really appreciate any guidance with the following issue:

Scenario:

  • Dynamics 365 OnPremise running on top of Windows 2016 servers (front end and backend)
  • IFD enabled with ADFS running on top of Windows 2016 Server. SSL certificate from GoDaddy.
  • Apps registered with ADFS and OAuth enabled based on this article: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh699726.aspx#BKMK_WS2012R2 "Configure Windows Server 2012 R2 for Dynamics 365 applications that use OAuth". ADFS and IIS services were re-started after being configured this way.
  • Clients using web browser and Dynamics 365 for phone app can access the deployment with no problems.

Problem:

  • While trying to initialize the app for the first time, Clients using "Dynamics 365 for Tablets" app cannot connect to the deployment, either from iOS or from Android. Only the following message is received after the credentials are typed validated in the ADFS login page: "This operation failed because you're offline".
  • Connection to the Internet is working fine in the Tablets
  • Nothing is logged in ADFS event viewer

What am I missing in these configurations?

    Update:

Enabling OAuth broke access from Dynamics 365 for Phones. Run Claims and IFD wizard again to fix that.

Update: I found the following text (page 47) in the Configuring Claims-based Authentication for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server guide available here: www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

"For Microsoft Dynamics CRM for tablets to successfully connect to a new deployment of

Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you must run a Repair of Microsoft Dynamics CRM on the

server running IIS where the Web Application Server role is installed after the InternetFacing Deployment Configuration Wizard is successfully completed."

Not sure if this still applies to Dynamics 365 but I will give it a try later today.

    Hi Xavier

Claim Based Authentication needs to be refreshed after the deployment , also please try to restart the IIS ( you would find it in Front End server ) , this could help to resolve the Issue

P.S : please make sure ADFS is running with valid self signed Signature as well

For the record: the problem was caused by an app installed by Samsung in the tablet.  The app was Android System Webview and if it is updated to the latest version, the problem occurs. If only the original version is left in the device, everything works fine.
