Applying entries with different dimension value on created entry

Hello,

I have an issue with dimensions.

This is the scenario:

1. I have posted purchase invoice with one dimension value.

2. I have posted payment wiht one dimension value (the same as in the posted invoice). Both documents are in currency, with some exchange rate.

3. Then I apply these entries via vendor ledger entries. In that moment system creates gain or loss (because of the realized exhange rate amount) and posts on proper account with the same dimension value as in the applied entries. But the issue is that on this account setup is another dimension value with "Same code" value posting.

I have tried with dimension priorities, but it's not working that way, because that entry is created in the background when applying entries.

Is there any solution for that to force a system to post on that dimension value which is on account setup? I have the option to change dimension value on any entry in GL entries, but that is not a good solution.

Thank you in advance,

Jelena

Have you checked what happens if you post the payment with no dimensions?

I guess it kind of makes sense to post this gain/loss with the dimensions used on the payment - because it is the payment that cause the gain/loss.

So to fix this I think you will have to talk to a developer and have it customized.

You can also submit it as a product idea to Microsoft
