GP2013 Email - SMTP & Gmail

Posted on by 1,180

Hi All -

I know that you can use either an Exchange or MAPI email configuration within GP2013. Is there any way to use an SMTP email setup with GP2013?

Also, we have a client who uses Gmail. Is there any way we can use Gmail with GP2013 (either directly or through some Outlook/Gmail connector)?

Cheers,

James.

    Hi 309Tree,

We have a product called NorthScope that has a feature which handles this integration between Dynamics GP and Gmail (or other SMTP / hosted email solutions ).

As I mentioned above, I'm not sure exactly what you want to email from within GP but we could help you with this.

If you want any other information let me know or contact me through the community privately.

    Thanks,

    Adam

    James,

Dynamics GP is only supported/tested with Outlook. You may get Gmail to work but it would not be supported.

    Thanks

I am not aware of a SMTP add-in that you can use.

As far as Gmail, that may have used to work, but they dropped support for their connector.  www.techspot.com/.../51129-google-drops-gmail-outlook-sync-support-microsoft-surprised.html

GP is very Microsoft-centric (obviously); as an example, exporting a SmartList to Excel will only use Excel, not open office.

Unfortunately I don't believe you'll find the answers you want.
