Controlling updates in online version

Posted on by 15

Hi all,

we are working through a migration from on-prem to online. We have a number of environments Dev, Test, Pre-live, Live and I would like to control when each environment gets updates. It is a bit of a grey area to me as it appears that updates are completely within Microsoft's control (it is a SaaS platform after all).

I feel it should be possible to have some control over when updates get applied but I am unable to find this in any settings in D365 or Power Platform to control this. Any pointers appreciated.

Regards

Duncan Baillie

Duncan is correct.   You can ask Microsoft to defer a few days or months but there is not proactive control for this.

Well, I've found out it doesn't work like that :-) Updates are announced via a notification email up to three months in advance and you can apply them to environments for testing. All well explained in the video here www.youtube.com/watch (thanks to our MS rep for the link).
