Hi,

I have inquiries regarding AX Client. I installed AX client on my laptop and I used the TCP/IP configuration from Virtual Machine but I am receiving error message saying that Connection unavailable. Does anyone knows how to configure it? thank you..

Best Regards,

Ivan

What virtualization technology are you using? Virtual Machine's network adapter must be configured for 2-way communication in order to be able to access it from outside. I am using Oracle VirtualBox for running my VMs, and I set up 2 network interfaces. The first one is a NAT, which shares my local PC's networking with the VM, so it could communicate with my network and the internet. The second one is a Bridged adapter, so the VM becomes visible and accessible for my network - maybe that is what you are missing?

I have found an article also on this, I am using the same technique to make a D365fF&O demo VM accessible over the browser in my network:

    Hi,

I am using hyper-V and I am still looking for solutions on how to connect AX client from my laptop to Hyper V. as my main server.

I understand that you are running Hyper-V on your laptop?

In your Virtual Machine, find 'Network connections' in the Control Panel, and give any network connection you have a name - so that it doesn't have a generic name (you'll need to be able to identify it later). Then shutdown the Virtual Machine.

In Hyper-V 'Virtual switch manager', create a new 'Virtual switch' of type 'Internal network'. (I call mine 'Internal').

Add this 'Internal' network to your Virtual Machine configuration. Boot up the Virtual Machine and find the new Network connection. Rename it to 'Internal'. Configure it with a 192.168.x.x IP address.

On your local laptop, go into Network connections and find one with the word 'Internal' in the name. Give it an IP address on the same range (but a different address, obviously).

You will now find that your laptop and Virtual Machine can communicate via TCP/IP. For example, you should be able to Remote Desktop from your laptop to your Virtual Machine. Once this works, you can point the AX Client on your laptop to the AOS on your Virtual Machine.
