Transfer all data from account A to account B

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

We have the following situation:

One Dynamics CRM Online user in our tenant got a new Office 365 account. All the opportunities, accounts and views that he had on his old Office account are still connected to his old account. Is it in any way possible to transfer all this data from his old account to his new account? Or transfer his old account to his new account...

Thanks in advance.

I don't know for sure if they will do it, but I would try to open a support case with Microsoft to see if they can fix this. They might help in ways you are not able to do on your own.

I had a somewhat similar case and they were surprisingly helpful.

    Yes there is

You will need two processes though, as reassigning records is different from reassigning personal views.

To reassign all records to the new user:

    1. Go to to 'Security' in the Settings area and click 'Users'
    2. Open the record form for the old user.
    3. Click 'Reassign Records' from the button bar (ribbon)
    4. In the popup, click 'Assign to another user or team' and enter the new user record
    5. Click 'OK' and wait for the process to complete.

To reassign all personal view to the new user:

    1. Download and start the XrmToolBox ( https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/ )
    2. Click 'Connect' to connect to your organization
    3. Start the 'Personal user views migration' plugin
      • If this plugin isn't installed, start the 'Plugins Store' from the 'Settings' menu to install it

    4. Click 'Load users' and select the old user from the list on the left
    5. Click 'Load [username]'s views' in the middle column and select which views to transfer
    6. Select the new user account from the column on the right and click 'Reassign'
