Can we get Cloud hosted F&O VM with Azure Subscription and without LCS subscription?

Posted on by 8

Hi,

Hope you are doing good!

1. Is there any way to deploy a cloud hosted VM with an Azure subscription and without having D365FO/LCS licenses? We wanted this for training purpose and for some pre-sales.  This would be for one year.

2. Can we create a LCS project with our organization mail ID and connect to Azure subscription (organization one) for D365 F&O instance?

3. LCS is chargeable or free if we get Azure subscription?

Please suggest. Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Note that to be able to deploy a cloud-hosted environment, you would need a partner trial subscription to create Dynamics 365 F&O projects on LCS. If you can't create a Dynamics 365 F&O project, then partners can request a partner trial subscription. 2) It's technically possible, as discussed before. You need LCS and Azure subscription. You confirmed Azure, but not LCS. So the answer is "Yes, if you access to LCS".
    3) Which kind of subscription do you have mind? If the Azure subscription, than the answer is "no".

    1. There are or used to be some trials. I'm not sure how it looks like with them and if the license allows what you needed. Hopefully someone else can tell you more. A year sounds way too long for a trial, in my opinion. Ideally, have an implementation partner that can help you with these things.
    2. Yes, you can connect LCS with an Azure subscription.
    3. LCS and Azure are completely different things; an Azure subscriptions grants you nothing in LCS. LCS is for Dynamics; you pay nothing for it.
