How to create an activity tab on lead form that shows open activities for that lead

Creating the new tab and sub grid are done.  When we are setting the properties for the data source, we are just not sure what to set the "default view" as to get it to only show the open activities for the lead's record you are on.  Our attempts end up showing all open activities for everyone or every lead, when we just want to see the open activities for the lead we are viewing.

Any help is appreciated.

When creating the activity subgrid, make sure it's set to "Only related records".  That will limit the Activity view to only the Lead you're on.

    Hi streetcorner,

    You have to do this:

    Wayne/Surmeet,

Thank you for your suggestions but we had it set like that already and it shows all open activities for every user, doesn't matter what lead record we are on.  Sigh....

I went and looked at the "Open Activities" view to see if maybe its filter criteria were off but I don't think it is.

Anything else you can think of to try?

    Thank you.

    Streetcorner,

You put the subgrid in the Lead form right?

To check, can you please check how many activities should be appearing vs how many activities for all lead.

    Thanks

Aileen - absolutely put it in the Lead form.  The lead I was on had 2 activites that should have been showing up.  What actually shows up is all scheduled activities for all users for all leads.  Its not filtering out the activities that are not regarding that specific lead for some reason.

    Thanks

Can you put snapshot of the filter behind the open activities view.

Looks like you have the default settings, so the view looks good; need to mask your url in the screenshot btw.

Is Additional Options turned on and all activities view selected? If so, turn it off and see if it works. It's unlikely to be the issue but worth testing to see if it is defaulting to show all activities instead of what you want.

Hey Ophiuchus,  I tried this also but it did not help.  I am at a loss as to why it wont show what it says it should be showing.

What happens when you go to another 'Regarding' view from another entity, such as campaigns or mailing lists?

Just to double check, is this the default lead entity or a custom one?
