Adding quantity on production BOM

Hi,

Has anyone found a solution to add an item in a production BOM to be consumed with the quantity as is instead of being multiplied by the number of units to be produced.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi

It is in 2022 Release Wave 1

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2022wave1/smb/dynamics365-business-central/fixed-quantity-product-bills-materials

But for now it is no out of box solution. I know some people use Fixed Scarp QTY in routing or BOM to accomplish this. What I mean is something like this. But this method increase capacity as well.

I have a different question relating to manufacturing. Apologies for deviating, hope this is not agsint forum rules.

What would cause the total rolled up cost in the cost shares from the finished good item card to be different from the finished good rolled up cost suggested by the standard worksheet

    Hi

It is not against any rule. New topic always help for future search if someone has a similar question.

Please see the following article. that explain the purpose of standard worksheet cost. Specially look at section after "The worksheet is designed so that the costs can be rolled and understood long before they need to be implemented. This is done in three ways:" this could provide more info.

I am sure Dallefeld  or      can provide more info if needed.

    Thanks MahGah,

I would ask if the total rolled up cost matches the current rolled up cost? We would expect that it would not match the new suggested standard cost. However, if the item card's current rolled up cost and the current rolled up cost in the worksheet don't match, then I would want to know if anyone has changed work center cost or a component standard cost? If the answer is yes, that would identify a reason for the mis-match.

Thanks MahGah . I will check out the link

@Dallefeld I changed some work center costs and reverted back to the initial ones. Could it be the issue?

    Hi black

Based on Kim's feedback and also the article I shared that could be a possibility. That sheet has lots of moving pieces based on article information

    Hello,

You want to have a component in a Production BOM that is fixed. This will be available in the upcoming April Wave release.

    Thanks,

    Steve
