Post and print packing slip from inventory management module

Hi There,

Suppose the warehouse staff post the packing slip from inventory module by path "Inventory management->Common->Shipments", on the shipments form, select a record and from the "Functions" menu button, select the "packing slip" menu item to post it.

The problem is if we don't select "Print packing slip" on the posting dialog, we cannot get a second change to print the packing slip from inventory management module again.(at least i haven't found another way to print the packing slip in the inventory management module)

My Questions:

1. Is it a good idea to ask the warehouse staff to post the packing slip from "Inventory management" module?

2. how to print the packing slip from the "Inventory management" module again after i posting it?

many thanks.

    Hi,

If you go to the original sales order or Sales and Marketing > Inquiries > Journals > Packing slips you can reprint them.

But indeed it is not in the Inventory management menu.

If it is part of the customer's process to post the packing slip by the warehouse staff, it is supported, so a good idea.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your reply, for the packing slip(delivery note), it probably will contain the "Package" information, such as weight, size, carton, etc. since these kind of work will be done by the warehouse guys, that's why i think the packing slip should be posted by the warehouse guys.

But since the process has not been defined, i would like you guys to give me some suggestion. what kind of process are using by your client.

    many thanks.

Best Twick is to create reference for Sales and Marketing > Inquiries > Journals > Packing slips from Sales & Marketing to Inventory Management Module. So that the inquiries can be done from Inventory Management Module.

    Hi Jianrui,

The processes are defined different per customer. Sometimes the warehouse workers creates the packing slip. In other cases they provide only feedback on picking lists and the packing slip is printed by e.g. a manager.

Whatever process, it is all OK if it will be smoothly and no errors occur. Do you need to educate people on using it correctly or not...

I think posting Packing slip from "Inventory management" module is good idea

I have checked and did not found any option for re-printing Packing slip from inventory management module

I suggest you should consider a modification and have

    option similar as

Sales and marketing > Inquiries > Journals > Packing slip

Please verify and update us if this helpful to you.

Not really, we just wanted to utilized the verified, proven process which has already been used in other company, and both the client and me are not quite sure which is the good one to us :)

We have only had luck re-printing the Packing Slip from the Sales and Marketing side. We go to the Packing slip journal and can re-print.

Once the "Print packing slip" box has been checked under a certain sign on; it should remain so that it will always print under that sign on.

    Hope this helps!

I have faced the same problem a lot of times with different customers. I apply always the same solution, in the Shipment form I add a PackinSlip button, in the CustPackingSlipJournal I modify the dynalink method in the datasource, you can join packinglips and the shipment through inventTransTable as it has the PickingRouteId (Shipment->PickingRoute->InventTrans->PackingSlip), once you call the form, it will filter the PackingSlips related to the Shipment you have selected, so can print again the reports.
