Form for inserting multiple records at one time

Whats the best approach to create a form for inserting multiple records at one time. E.g. If I have 2 entities department and employee (1:N); and want to create a form where in the user selects department (lookup field), enters multiple employee details and submits (maybe a grid with columns representing the mandatory employee attributes??). Can this be achieved and how?

With CRM UI it is not possible. To achieve this either you need to use HTML web resource and some JavaScript code or some custom development.

With HTML web resource and JavaScript you can create grid in HTML web resource and user will add employee details, and then using JavaScript you need to insert those records into CRM.

Here is some sample code to insert records into CRM using JavaScript.

    Hope this will help..

If using Quick Create (on employee sub-grid) is too many clicks for you then have you considered using Excel to import the data? Could you help us understand why you want to use forms to create Bulk data?

I did not have a real life scenario associated with this question. My intent was to know the possible options for this kind of a scenario and IMO all the approaches i.e. custom development, Quick Create and importing using excel are possible options. Like I read in some other post its all about the design and approach relevant to solution being implemented.

My key takeaway/confirmation from this thread is the fact that "With CRM UI it is not possible". I also came across this grid which can potentially be integrated for CRUD operations in this scenario. https://crmgrid.codeplex.com/

    Appreciate your inputs. Thank you!
