Not only will the screen resolution change this, but if you moved the window, changed the layout or even if the minimize/maximize buttons are visible I have seen this throw macros off. Whenever possible we always use keyboard shortcuts while recording macros.
If you are interested in a non-macro approach to solving these discounting needs, have a look at our RITE Open Discount tool: www.rite.us/.../OpenDiscount.aspx. Not only can you set discounts, but you can automatically associate reason codes or even require manager overrides for discounts. Very handy.

Was the discount button a macro?
If the screen resolution has changed, it could disrupt the macro. You will have to re-create the discount macro.
