What would be the best definition for the Main Account concept? (from a dev point of view).

What do you mean under "concept" ?
I mean what would be the explanation you would give a technical person that just starts to learn AX for what MainAccount stand for (in a few sentences), I'm not looking for a chapter in an finance manual :)

The shortest description I can think of is that a main account is an entity that holds financial values in order to generate different reports as a company's Balance Sheet and/or Income Statement.

There are plenty of information about the chart of account in the online documentation, which is not a finance manual:

You can learn a lot about what are main account types, what is a chart of accounts (the collection of main accounts), how do you consolidate them in a multi-country organization - pretty much everything which compliments a finance manual, which is a prerequisite to know if you want to become a good financials developer.
